New Rat Runs in Lee Green

Mayor of Lewisham – Damien Egan – has made the decision to reopen large parts of the LTN ostensibly because he thinks bus times will speed up if cars are released into it.

We’ve decided to take a look at the new rat-runs likely to emerge as a result of these changes. It looks like 11.6km of rat runs have been reopened.

In this map you can see the different new coloured rat-run routes:

New through routes (Manor Lane south)
New through routes (Manor Park)
New through routes (avoiding Lewisham Gateway)
New through routes (Leahurst)
Original through routes
Schools in area

We can see that these new rat runs will return traffic to the schools that the LTN was built to protect, and in the case of Brindishe Manor and Trinity Primary Schools they will likely see even more traffic than ever before :

Additionally Lysth Nursery will see even more traffic than it used to with the new rat run on Pascoe Road likely feeding cars straight over to Wisteria Road
